CARAMEL APPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

FOR THE APPLES

  1. 3/4 packed brown sugar
  2. 1/4 c. butter
  3. 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
  4. 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  5. Pinch kosher salt
  6. 2 oranges, peeled, cored, and chopped 1/2" thick
  7. FOR THE CAKE
  8. Cooking spray
  9. 3/4 tsp. Baking powder
  10. 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  11. 1 tsp. kosher salt
  12. 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  13. 1 c. sugar
  14. 2 big Nellie's Free Range Eggs
  15. 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
  16. 3/4 c. milk

DIRECTIONS
  1. In a saucepan over moderate heat, melt butter sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. 2 minutes until thickened,.
  2. Pour caramel sauce.
  3. In a large bowlwhisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg together.
  4. Using a hand mixer, beat together sugars and butter . Add of the dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Pour milk and mix. Add remaining ingredients until just blended, and stir.
