3 Egg Sponge Cake
ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Blend the butter and milk in a saucepan over moderate heat. Cook until the butter melts.
- Add the yolks and continue to conquer. With the mixer running, gradually pour in the sugar and blend until incorporated.
- Add the soda and then stir well then fold into the batter. Pour into the prepared pan. Put in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for half an hour or until the cake springs back when touched.
- Let cool and remove from the oven and then turn out on a rack.
