3 Egg Sponge Cake




ingredients

  1. 1 tbsp butter
  2. 1/2 cup milk
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 1/2 cup sugar
  5. 1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  6. 1 pinch salt
  7. 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Blend the butter and milk in a saucepan over moderate heat. Cook until the butter melts.
  2. Add the yolks and continue to conquer. With the mixer running, gradually pour in the sugar and blend until incorporated.
  3. Add the soda and then stir well then fold into the batter. Pour into the prepared pan. Put in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for half an hour or until the cake springs back when touched.
  4. Let cool and remove from the oven and then turn out on a rack.
