Ingredients

LEMON POUND CAKE

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp lemon extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest

LEMON POUND CAKE

  • Beat butter and sugar together in a bowl using an electric mixer till light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, completely hammering every egg into the butter mix.
  • Insert 1/3 of this flour mixture to the butter mix; combine. Pour 1/2 that the beat and buttermilk till blended. Repeat end with the flour mixture, beating well after each addition, and adding the flour mixture and buttermilk.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted into the cake's middle comes out clean, 60 to 75 minutes. Cool before removing to plate or a cake platter.

LEMON GLAZE

  • Confectioner's sugar and 2 tablespoons softened butter together in a bowl till glaze is smooth.
  • Pour over the cake. Pour glaze over the cake.
