Ingredients

  • 1 rod (8 tbs) unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar split
  • 2 big eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large apples peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds finely chopped

Directions

  • From the bowl of a stand mixer, whip together the butter and one cup of the sugar until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla and eggs and beat until smooth.
  • In a medium bowlwhisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Spread the batter in the cake pan
  • Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the centre comes out clean, 35-40 minutes.
  • Allow the cake cool in the pan and then slice and serve the cake out of the pan. This cake is even better when served, when it's still warm!
  • Drizzle each piece of cake using salted caramel sauce to function.
