Ingredients
- 1 rod (8 tbs) unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar split
- 2 big eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large apples peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup almonds finely chopped
Directions
- From the bowl of a stand mixer, whip together the butter and one cup of the sugar until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the vanilla and eggs and beat until smooth.
- In a medium bowlwhisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Spread the batter in the cake pan
- Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the centre comes out clean, 35-40 minutes.
- Allow the cake cool in the pan and then slice and serve the cake out of the pan. This cake is even better when served, when it's still warm!
